This course focuses on pharmaceutical care and development of required skills including information gathering, patient counseling, identification of medication related problems and decision making. The course reinforces communication skills needed for effective patient counseling. Emphasis is placed on self-care, nonprescription therapies and drug therapy assessments.
The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop effective communication skills required to deal with patients and other health care professionals. It aims also at developing pharmaceutical care skills necessary for the pharmacist to more effectively respond to the drug-related needs of patients.
