🧪 Advanced Clinical Chemistry – Course Summary
This course provides an in-depth exploration of advanced concepts in clinical chemistry, focusing on the biochemical basis of disease, laboratory diagnostics, and interpretation of complex clinical data. It is designed to equip postgraduate students with the knowledge and analytical skills required for modern clinical laboratory practice and research.
The course covers key areas including advanced enzymology, biomarkers of organ function (liver, kidney, and cardiac markers), endocrine biochemistry, lipid metabolism, and molecular diagnostic techniques. Emphasis is placed on the integration of laboratory findings with clinical conditions, enabling students to critically evaluate patient data and contribute to evidence-based medical decisions.
Students will also gain hands-on understanding of advanced analytical techniques such as immunoassays, chromatography, spectrophotometry, and molecular methods, alongside quality control, method validation, and laboratory accreditation standards.
By the end of the course, students will be able to interpret complex biochemical profiles, understand disease mechanisms at the molecular level, and apply clinical chemistry tools in both diagnostic and research settings.
