This course covers the fundamental concepts of database systems, including database architecture, data models, and DBMS. Topics include data modeling using the ER and EER models, relational algebra and calculus, database mapping, integrity constraints, and normalization. Students apply these concepts through SQL, covering DDL and DML using SQL Plus, and learn to transform conceptual designs into relational schemas. As a culminating activity, students design a real-world database system, from requirements analysis and ER modeling through schema derivation and SQL implementation. The course includes a project where students analysis, design, enhance, and implement a database system
